Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an award-winning, evidence-based program for people living with dementia.  It provides opportunities for creative self-expression and social engagement, grounded in person-centered care principals.  OMA sessions are led by trained facilitators from Cleveland Clinic.

Each older adult is paired with a trained intergenerational volunteer who provides guidance during the art-making process, but makes no aesthetic decisions for the artist.  Art making sessions culminate in a gallery exhibition celebrating the artists’ (person living with dementia) accomplishments while educating the public about creative capacities of people living with dementia.
