This course is designed to provide an overview of various types of dementia, its impact on activities of daily living, the normal cognitive aging process, possible causes and risk factors of dementia and preventative strategies. This course has been approved by the Nevada Certification Board for 1.0 CE units for Community Health Workers I and II.    

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the educational activity participant will be able to:

  • Identify early signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease
  • Review modifiable risk factors
  • Implement lifestyle behaviors that promote brain health
