Course Overview:
This course will review the role of social work and social support after a dementia diagnosis. This course discusses planning for the future with a diagnosis and identifying patient and caregiver priorities when making these plans. This course will also provide a variety of patient and caregiver resources that expanse challenges with living arrangements, life domains, and conflict management.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the educational activity participant will be able to:
- Describe the role of social work after a dementia diagnosis
- Develop effective communication strategies for challenging conversations
- Locate available patient and family resources
