This course provides an overview of the importance of enriched activities individuals with dementia can do in the home, describes communication techniques and supportive strategies for caregivers to utilize when caring for an individual living with dementia, reviews case studies associated with caregiving as well as describes various caregiver supports and resources.
At the end of the educational activity participant will be able to:
- Identify appropriate enrichment activities for individuals living with dementia
- Apply effective communication strategies when caring for an individual living with dementia
- Locate social support and other resources for caregivers
