Multi-system Manifestations of Progressive Brain Diseases 2021

Conference Overview:

Most progressive brain disease occur as a result of neurodegenerative processes.  The progressive degeneration and/or death of neuronal and glia celss cause a number of symptoms years before a clinical diagnosis, many which can help recognize prodromal states.  Symptoms originating from various organ systems are not usually recognized as cardinal for the definition and/or diagnosis of these diseases.  While these often higly disabling, multisystem manifestations of neurodegnerative diseases are commonly neglected, their appropriate treatment can markedly improve patient’s quality of life.  This confernce will focus on the disabilities caused by motor, autonomic, enteric, and neuropsychiatric decline as a result of neurodegeneratve diseases.
