Course Overview:

This course provides an overview of how lifestyle impacts brain health.  The goal of this course is to increase awareness about the importance of brain health, the connection between brain health and physical health, and how simple lifestyle modifications can decrease the likelihood of developing dementia and slow progression for those with dementia when used with treatment.   Each activity reviews the six pillars of brain health:  exercise, healthy eating, managing co-morbid conditions, sleep and relaxation, mental fitness, and social connection. 

Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply the six pillars of a brain-health into daily routines
  2. Explain the effects lifestyle has on brain health and other co-morbid conditions
  3. Describe how the six pillars of bran health have the capacity to reduce the risk of developing dementia
